Ride The Lights

On Tuesday evening we went to Blackpool’s Ride The Lights event; each year the main road through Blackpool’s promenade is closed to traffic on the 1st September, a few days before the official illumination switch on.  People of all ages and abilities ride through the illuminations on their bikes, we went for the first time last year and loved it so were back again this year!

It’s a brilliant experience and would recommend it to friends and family.  The only downside is how busy it can be, but if you go at your own pace and stick to the side its fine.

We start at the South shore and ride all the way along the promenade, when we get to the half way point where the traffic is guided back around we stop for a well earned fish and chip supper.

I think secretly, this is our favourite part!

This year, the highlight for Ellie was meeting the Minions and having her photo taken with them!

You can get more details of the event Here and hope to see you next year!

What events do you attend yearly, I’d love to know and possibly try myself!
