Back to reality

I’m sooo glad it’s Wednesday evening!  It means I’m now over the half way mark of my first week back at work, and we’ve all survived!  The reality that Christmas is over and my holidays have finished has hit but we are enjoying being back in a routine, and making sure that the time we do spend together is quality time.

I’m getting fed up of the dark nights now and I’m more than ready for a bit of warmth in the evenings so we can get out and about after busy days at work and nursery.  This being said, my favourite time of day at the minute is around 6 o clock when we get a board game or something similar out to play before the bedtime routine starts.  We sit in front of the fire and play snap or Buckaroo or something similar, it’s so simple but we love it.

So although I am ready for a change in the weather I do appreciate there are some advantages of a cold, dark winters night.  Tonight that was in the form of playing with HappyLand toys in front of a toasty warm fire and then making a start on one of Ellie’s sticker books…

  2. We’re happy to be back in our routine too, it’s hard for the kids to not lose a little when they don’t know what is happening next. Thanks so much for linking up! 🙂 x
